Avon Cosméticos is an American cosmetics company. Its history began in 1886 when David McConnell started the California Perfume Company in Manhattan, New York. The name Avon, for which it would become known worldwide, only appeared in 1939, inspired by William Shakespeare's hometown, Stratford-upon-Avon. In Brazil it only appeared in 1958.
Over the years Avon has developed several product lines, ranging from fragrances, makeup, hair and skin care, in addition to a children's line. Through the sales system through brochures and resellers, reaching a significant share in the beauty market.
